Reading order book depth on hover

Last updated on Aug 28, 2026

On order book markets, you can hover any price level in the order book to see what it would take to trade up to that level. This helps you check the average price of a larger order before you place it.

See the details for a level

  1. Go to app.n1.xyz/perps and open a market that trades on the order book.

  2. Move your cursor over a row in the order book. Every level between the best price and the one you are pointing at is highlighted.

  3. Read the details in the panel that appears next to the row.

  4. Move your cursor away to close the panel.

What the panel shows

  • Distance from Mid: how far the level's price sits from the current mid price, as a percentage. Ask levels show a positive value, bid levels a negative one.

  • Average Price: the average price you would get if the whole highlighted range filled, not the price of that single row.

  • Total (asset): the combined size of every highlighted level, in the market's base asset.

  • Total (USDC): the combined value of every highlighted level, in USDC.

The numbers are cumulative, so they include the hovered level and every better-priced level above or below it.

What to expect

  • The figures describe the book as it is right now. The book moves constantly, so an order placed a moment later can fill at a different average price.

  • The panel is a preview only. Nothing is submitted while you hover.

  • Selecting a level still copies its price into the order form.

  • The panel needs a mouse, so it does not appear on touchscreens. On a phone or tablet, tapping a level copies its price into the order form as usual.

  • RFQ markets do not have an order book, so there is nothing to hover there. The trade summary shows your quoted estimate instead.
